My family shares a weekly summer tradition with the Bruun family. Each week during the summer, we head to downtown Hillsboro for the Tuesday Night Marketplace. The grownups eat a dinner that consists of mostly berries and desserts, listen to great music and get a chance to socialize a little bit while the kids eat everyone's berries, dance, play and wrestle...so much wrestling. It began because Jake decided to introduce himself in 2014 when he remembered us from the year before. I'll be honest and say that I do not remember him from the year before. I don't remember much though since I was in the depths of it with the two boys. But because Jake and Robyn were so kind and made us feel so comfortable despite our boys' craziness, we have sat together ever since. One of my favorite things about them is that they take us as we are...flaws and all.
We don't get to to hang out during the school year as much as we would like, but we are working on it...in fact we had dinner together just the other night. So I was super excited when we scheduled this session. As many know, growing up my family had a motto, courtesy of my dad. It was, "there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad equipment and bad attitudes". Let me tell you, on Saturday there were no bad attitudes from Jake and Robyn when they decided to go ahead with their session despite the rain! Their daughter needed a little more convincing, but what do you expect from an almost 3 year old?
